Biography

José Carlos Peláez Lazo (Charlie Atom) is a DJ, multi-instrumentalist musician and fusion house producer. He was born 21 july 1988 in Veracruz, Mexico. He started playing the piano in many places like school orchestra or “La Casa de Agustín Lara”. He learned to play guitar at 12, bass-guitar at 13 and drums at 15 years old. Originally he was a rock producer and released his first studio album “Animae” when he was 15 years old, from where the idea of proyect “Thaumasia” was created. Thaumasia is the main proyect of Charlie Atom but still in standby because of his efforts are now pointing to electro/dance music.

He started as a DJ when he was 20 years old. Influenced by his friend Roberto Hernandez (DJ Robert) founded Dreamstream Productions (witch is currently working now days). Charlie Atom performed in many places around mexico and produced his own remixes to play and he is currently teaching Electronic Music Production and DJ Mixing in CETAM & DJING Artschool. In 2010 he was signed to Another Chance Records for his first EP: “I Am The Creator” and later released “Whirlpool (Remixes)” in the same label. He has made releases to many other record labels and in 2011 he released his first studio album “Psychedelhi” wich he decided to release for free in his own record label eVision Records. He also joined “The Hangover Collective” and Neza Apparel DJ agency and is working with many mexican DJs such as: DJ Sofio, Mr. Mauffa, Soft Focus, DelCentro, TheLEBeats and many more.
